Come to think of it, tania, me & jeremy had been as close as glue as ever. Haha we're like the best cousins of the era. Fun times we had together.
I can remember, when we young & still carrying those innocent attitude, how tania is able to make us laugh at the childrens' table whenever we had dinner together. & when I meant laugh, I meant real hard, because we would clutch our stomachs & try to stop & only finish our dinner like one hour later.
When they were living in bishan, I can remember we used to play outside their house at the void deck since they lived on the first floor. Behind their house, we will used to try and scout for snails & catch them, though on some attempts, we actually killed them for the fun of it. It was like a mini forest there, & when we play our silly hunting games, we will pretend like we're some trained scavengers & like we're going on missions. Haha & then after a loooooooooong hard playing, my aunt will fill up their plastic pool outside their door & we'll swim in it till dinner's ready.
I always thought their then house was magical, in the sense that tania & jeremy used to share a double-decked bed in the room. When the adults played mahjong till it was late & we had to stayover, we'd always go to their parents' room & tuck ourselves in the massive blankets while watching some goofy & donald cartoons. If we had to leave, then we'll pretend to fall asleep so the adults won't wake us up & thus we will still have to stayover.
Cute right? Haha.
We also play hide ' n' seek in each's house. Then we used to use blankets and pillows and everything we can find in the room to make a really huge indoor-playground-alike site & like we can crawl around up or down or underthebed, using stands to hold blankets up. Fun shit.
Times when both our families had chalet, we would play in the pool whilst the adults went to buy groceries for the barbeque. Then at night we will stay in the room to talk and stuff. Or when we're at aloha & we'll go to the arcade or the indoor playground to play. Damnit I missed that place.
As we reached the age of younghood, we'll become obsessed with video games like the gameboy color back then. Or the playstation. We'll bring our consoles & stuff over to each's house whenever we had the chance. We still do that occasionally, although not that often.
When they moved, we used to go to their backyard, when backthen it was a mini garden & we'll find spiders. Haha one time, we caught like a whole box of them & we brought them to the toilet to flush. Disgusting and omg animal cruelity.
They used to have this really big aeroplane game carpet in jeremy's room in the new semidetached, you know those that you need throw dice and you have four planes and you have to reach the goal. Damn fun. Then we'll sleep on the carpet when we stayover there. I missed those times when we like talk and joke in the dark, and ask each other whether they're asleep yet.
When the adults actually let us start to gamble at new year's, jeremy & I will sort of, 'team up' against the others. If he's the dealer, he'll go easy on me & likewise the other way around. Come to think of it, was quite devious actually, & we always share our earnings.
It's like back then, we share this kind of bond that even though we never understood, it helped us grow up & stay close. I love this kind of feeling. We can even talk openly about our problems and as inappropriate or disgusting, we won't even have to mind. It's like freedom of speech & we don't have to pretend when we're in front of each other.
& now, though we might not have time for each other anymore as much, we still do leave some space on our schedules for each other. To have mahjong sessions, or to watch movies together, or to play pool or to bowl, sometimes even going to town or just hanging out.
It kinda made me wonder how long we're going to stay close like this.
I hope when we grow old, we'll still stay the best of now & everything else.
